Lynda Carter
Carter was born in Phoenix (Arizona) as the daughter of Juanita Cordova and Colby Carter. Her father is of English as well as Scots Irish Her ancestry is Scots Irish and English as is her mother, who is Mexican and Spanish. Carter has one brother named Vincent and a sister, Pamela. Carter was just 5 years old when she made her TV debut on the Lew Kings Talent Show. Carter joined a band named Just Us during high school. The group played marimba and a conga drum. They also performed on an acoustic and the stand-up bass which was played by another band member. At the age of 15 Lynda started singing in the local pizza restaurant to earn extra money. 8. When she turned 16 years old, she joined her cousins from a different group called The Relatives. The actor Gary Burghoff was the drummer for the group. The band first performed at the Sahara Hotel and Casino lounge in Las Vegas for three months since Carter was not yet 21 years old, she must have entered through the kitchen.Carter went to Arizona State University. After being awarded "Most talented" in the school, Carter decided to quit school in pursuit of an opportunity as a musician. Carter was a candidate for The Garfin Gathering in 1970. She then went on the road with Howard (Speedy), Garfin. Their first concert together was in the Holiday Inn Chinatown in San Francisco and was so brand new that it didn't have sidewalks. The band played mostly for the hotel staff and guests of the hotel who parked their vehicles in the underground garage. The Garfin Gathering performed shows throughout the Nevada "Silver Circuit" which included in a number of Nevada's casino lounges. Carter chose to walk away from the Garfin Gathering in 1972 to pursue acting, and then returned to Arizona.
