Her role as Willie Scott (an American nightclub performer and singer) in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), which was directed by her eventual husband Steven Spielberg, is her most famous role. She has been in Dreamscape (1984), Power(1986), SpaceCamp(1986), Black Rain (1989), Love Affair (94), Just Cause (1995) and The Love Letter (1999). Capshaw, whose portraiture has been shown in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw, was born Kathleen Sue Nail in Fort Worth Texas. She is the daughter of Beverley Sue Simon (nee Simon), beauty therapist and travel agent along with Edwin Leon Nail, an employee of the airline. When she was of five she moved to St. Louis and graduated from Hazelwood Senior High School. Capshaw was awarded a degree at the University of Missouri in education. She was also a part of Alpha Delta Pi. She taught special education at Southern Boone High School in Ashland, Missouri, and Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Missouri.
