Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. Paquin is a native of Canada and actress from New Zealand. Born in Winnipeg but brought up in Wellington, she was the first actress to appear on screen in The Piano. In this romance film, at the age of the age of 11, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. Anna Paquin's full name is Anna Helene Paquin. Born on the 24th of July, 1982 at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was a Canadian birthed New Zealand actress. As an infant, she won an Academy Award for best support actress. Her role as the enthusiastic and lively young girl Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) earned her the prize. She won the role of Flora McGrath the daughter of the blind Scottish pianist who, in the middle of 19th century, moves to New Zealand for an arranged marriage when she responded to an audition open to all; she was nine years old and had almost no prior experience in acting. The actress moved from New Zealand to United States as a teen. Paquin had a small part in the role of Jane Eyre's title character while she was just a young girl as part of Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) as well as a lead part in the movie Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin played Frankie Addams in a 1997 television movie adaptation of the novel by Carson McCullers The Member of the Wedding and also played a part as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). The actress played teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) and Almost Famous (2000). In addition, she portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
