Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn. to a family of 12 poor kids who would grow with them eventually. She learned young how to overcome of the difficulties she faced with her incredibly imaginative imagination. Before she learned to write and read Dolly Parton was composing her own music. In 8 years, she was playing her first guitar. In the age of 11 when she was 11, she began singing at Knoxville Tenn's local radio station. Gold Band Records is a small, independent label. In high school she was able to establish herself within the community, but her dream was greater. On the 14th of March, 1964, that followed her graduation from high school, she relocated to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated TV show host at the time was searching for a singer for his program. Parton accepted the role in the year 1966. She joined RCA Records in 1968, and the Grand Ole Opry was founded in 1969. She quit Wagoner's act in 1974, when her solo songs such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene beat out the collaborations. Parton recorded I Will Always love You for Wagoner in the aftermath of their breakup. It reached number one. For the first time, in 1974.
