Taylor
Taylor Swift has become a rare pop phenomenon: A celebrity who has strayed from country music to pop culture, becoming a pop icon that will last forever and conquering all of the world. Swift dropped country as if it was a second layer of herself, proving that she's possibly the smartest pop-singer/songwriter her generation. Someone who is able to harness the current zeitgeist and make it personal, and perform in the opposite. Swift's first hits, particularly their neo tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her talents. But her 2008 album Fearless showcased a writer who was beginning to discover herself, and gaining a huge following. Fearless had a great success not only in America, but also with six platinum-certified singles. In fact, the Top Ten songs Love Story & I Belong with Me were the most important reasons. However, it did well all over the world. Swift soared to the top of her game with Speak Now. Swift's popularity continued to grow over her next three albums -- Red (2012) 1989 (2014), and Reputation (2017) Reputation (2017) and found her moving assuredly into a realm of pop music that she had already been a part of. The popularity of her music grew after she changed her strategy with 2020's pared-down siblings folklore (and Evermore) and stayed at the top of the charts.
