Walker was born 1976 in Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. Walker is an American citizen who is of African descendance. She is the daughter of Harvey Welker, a Native American father, and Julie Welker, an African American mother. Her father works in engineering while her mother is an agent. Walker received her schooling through Germantown Friends School located in Philadelphia's Germantown area where she graduated in 1994. She then went on to Harvard College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998. Welker, who is married with John Hughes of Merck Philadelphia in Philadelphia is the mother of two. They began to have an affair. John her husband is four years younger than her. The couple decided to move their relationship forward since things were going smoothly. On March 4, 2017, they were married. Philadelphia Pennsylvania hosted their wedding. At the Hyatt Hotel they had a big enormous wedding. To the wedding, only family members and close guests were invited. Around 300 people were at the event.
